How We UseCookies
Last updated: 29 August 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use, and how to control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
This Cookie Policy explains how Upflat ("Upflat", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on https://upflat.online (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which covers how we handle personal information more generally. By using the Site you consent to the use of cookies as described here, except where your consent is required by law and has not been given.
#1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to give site owners information about how their site is used.
- First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by another service, such as an advertising or analytics provider.
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
- We also use similar technologies such as pixels, web beacons and local storage, which we refer to collectively as "cookies" in this policy.
#2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to keep the Site working and secure, to remember your preferences, to understand how readers find and use our guides so we can improve them, and to display the advertising that keeps the Site free. We group them into three categories.
- Essential cookies. Necessary for the Site to function, and not switchable in our systems. They are set in response to actions you take, such as recording your cookie preferences. The Site cannot work properly without them.
- Analytics cookies. These help us see which guides are read, how readers move through the Site, and where pages are confusing — so we can fix them. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity for this.
- Advertising cookies. Set through the Site by Google AdSense and other advertising vendors. They make advertising more relevant, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure whether advertising works.
#3. Third-Party Cookies We Use
Because the Site uses Google AdSense, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, some cookies are set by those companies. Each is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.
Google AdSense (advertising). Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites. These cookies may be set from domains such as doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com and googleadservices.com. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Google Analytics (analytics). We use Google Analytics 4 to collect aggregated statistics about how the Site is used — pages viewed, session length, general traffic sources. In Google Analytics 4, IP addresses are not logged or stored by default.
Microsoft Clarity (session analytics). We use Clarity to understand interaction through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. It captures mouse movements, clicks, scrolls and pages visited, and automatically masks sensitive input fields. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

#5. Your Cookie Choices
Browser settings. Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies. See the help pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect how the Site functions.
- Opt out of personalised advertising with Google at My Ad Center, and with many other vendors through optout.aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every website by installing the opt-out browser add-on.
- Global Privacy Control. Where applicable we honour GPC browser signals as a request to opt out of "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Consent banner. Where non-essential cookies are used and the law requires it, we show a banner letting you accept or decline them before they are set, and you can change your choice at any time.
#6. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is still no common industry standard for how sites should respond to it, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. We do honour Global Privacy Control signals, as described above.
#7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes we will post the updated policy here and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
